Christmas PJs to Shirt-Dress

My socks match! that’s rare.

Mama sent me this moose themed flannel nightshirt a few years back for Christmas. It’s super festive for the 12th month of the year. It’s cute, comfy, and warm.

I was invited to a Christmas party. The dress code was “festive-casual”. I didn’t have anything that was overtly seasonally appropriate, other than this shirt that had just arrived.

I wanted to see if I could somehow modify it to work for the occasion.

I wasn’t in the mood to do a complete transformation refashion. I kinda like it for a sleeping shirt still. My house gets a bit chilly in the winter months.

All I did was add a wide belt (pants, boots, & earrings) and the transformation was complete!

No shoes in the house!

I believe Hubs’ words were, “You’re weird.” Hey! He knew what he was getting into when he asked me to marry him! You can’t be creative without a little crazy seeping in.

I couldn’t believe how many compliments I got! I don’t think I was fooling anyone that I was actually wearing pajamas.

While I’m on the subject of Christmas,

Here is your Christmas Bonus:

An advent wall:

That is an old bi-fold louvered closet door that I removed from one of the closets in our house. It was just sitting in the garage. I used twine to string across and some wooden clothes pins to hold the paper bags. The closet door, string, and clothespins stay up year round, and I just redecorate it.

My kids helped me decorate the paper bags and I numbered the them for Advent. I started this tradition when my kids were younger because they needed a visual representation of how many days were left until Christmas.

We reuse these bags every year. Can you see the blank bag with handles down at the bottom? That’s where we put the opened empty bags.
